What is Split Detector for Parking Guidance System (PGS)?

A split detector (also known as split‑type ultrasonic parking detector) is one core front‑end sensing hardware for ultrasonic‑based Parking Guidance System (PGS). Different from integrated detector which combines ultrasonic probe and RGB LED indicator inside one single housing, split detector adopts separated hardware architecture: independent ultrasonic sensing probe for vehicle presence detection, and separate RGB LED bay‑status indicator unit. Two parts are linked by signal cables. It detects parking‑bay occupancy status, sends data via RS485 bus to zone node controller and central controller, works together with PGS‑SW parking guidance management software and entrance LED guidance displays.Sintronictech split detectors have been deployed for overseas smart‑parking reference projects including Dubai hybrid parking lot, Malaysia large‑capacity 1000‑bay car‑park and Zimbabwe underground parking‑lot projects.

Core Internal Components of Sintronictech Split Detector System

The complete split detector set includes separate sensing probe, independent LED indicator, connection cables and peripheral communication assemblies:

  1. Ultrasonic sensing probe unit: Ultrasonic transmit‑receive transducer module, mounted above parking‑bay center. Uses time‑of‑flight ultrasonic echo to judge whether vehicle occupies the parking space.
  2. Separate RGB LED bay‑status indicator: Independent high‑brightness indicator module, shows real‑time bay status: Green = vacant, Red = occupied, Blue = reserved / handicapped bay. It receives control signal sent from ultrasonic probe via signal cable.
  3. Multi‑core signal connection cable: Transmits power supply and status control signal between ultrasonic probe and separated LED indicator.
  4. On‑board MCU processing chip inside probe: Executes ultrasonic signal filtering, anti‑interference algorithm, status logic judgment and RS485 data packaging.
  5. RS485 bus communication terminal: Daisy‑chain bus interface, connects multiple split detectors to zone node controller for bay‑data aggregation.
